It is very important to us to get your products right!
We personally inspect every image and piece of artwork to ensure
that the finished product is going to turn out just right. We
will contact you prior to commencing production if we believe
the design to be substandard.
Please be aware that the printing process and creative artwork
can be rather complex and confusing. The best way for you to ensure
that your finished products are going to look as you expect it
is to Contact Us with any questions
or concerns. We will be happy to take a look at your designs and
let you know if they are suitable and if there will be any additional
charges for their use.
The best way to be sure of the highest quality is to use a professional
graphic designer or photographer. We realize this is not always
appropriate or feasible. As such, below we have laid out some
basic information for those wishing to submit their own artwork
or images.
Although we will contact you if we believe the images are unsuitable,
you are ultimately responsible for the quality of your images
and all items produced using those images.
There are two completely different types of
designs that are used depending on the design. The distinction
is important and different guidelines apply to each.
Bitmaps are images that may have come from a digital picture
or scanned picture. The main point to understand about bitmaps
is that they created by thousands of small points (called pixels)
of one colour each. Bitmaps file can be saved as a .bmp, .jpg,
.jpeg, .gif, .png, MacPaint, or others. Bitmaps will become grainy
and blurry as they are enlarged.
Bitmaps are typically not suitable for embroidery.
Resolution
Resolution is determined by how many coloured dots (pixels)
make up the image per inch. A higher number of pixels results
in an image with finer detail. Higher resolution also enables
better enlarging of the image.
Images should be at least 150 dpi (dots per inch) but 300 dpi
is preferable. Note that resolution decreases as the image is
enlarged. Therefore the resolution should be for the size that
it is to be printed. Images with a resolution of over 300 dpi
are not appreciably better.
Remember that if you wish to enlarge your image, the pixels within
the image will also be enlarged, so it might become more 'grainy'
than you would like.
Format
There are several formats for bitmaps and most are fine
for us to work with. We often can also work with PDF’s or
Word documents.
An important point to understand is that an image may not look
precisely the same printed as it does on your computer screen.
The main reason is that there are two different methods of producing
colour. The images produced on your screen are comprised of Red,
Green, and Blue lights (RGB) projected onto the screen. Images
printed on paper are a mix of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black
ink (CMYB).
Getting your images to us
You may send your images to us in three ways:

your order online. The image must less than 1 MB (1,000KB) and
must be one of the following file formats:
• .bmp
• .gif
• .jpg / .jpeg
• .eps
• .psd
• .png
• .cdr
You also may upload a Word Document (.doc) or a PDF file (.pdf).
If you wish to use the same image to design multiple products,

Charges
Most bitmaps will be printed (they are usually not suitable
for embroidery) and thus no additional charges typically apply
unless you would like us to do retouching on the photo (cropping,
red eye removal, etc). Please Contact
Us directly for a quote for these services.
Other
Be aware that images taken from the internet are most
likely to be protected by copyright laws. We will not produce
any item that may infringe on these laws.
We will not produce any images that are crude, indecent, or defamatory.
Vector artwork is designed in a special software program,
typically Adobe Illustrator. Unlike bitmaps, vectors are not based
on pixels, but rather points on a line. As such, vectors are able
to be resized without any loss of quality. Most logos are vector
based and can be saved as an AI, EPS, WMF or others.
Format
We prefer that artwork sent to us is in the Adobe Illustrator
or EPS format. Please Contact Us
if you need to send the image in a different format to ensure
that we are able to use it.
Guidelines
If your designs are to be or have been designed by a
professional graphic designer, then most likely the artwork will
be fine. Please Contact Us directly
if you would like us to design your image or if you are designing
it yourself.
Charges
Vector artwork is typically logos, which are typically
embroidered. All images that are embroidered are subject to a
one time digitisation fee. No other charges will apply unless
additional time is required to prepare the artwork. Please Contact
Us if you are unsure.
Other
No artwork will be returned unless requested |
